Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
CueClash ("we", "us") is an online 8-ball pool game. This policy explains what information we collect when you play, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details: your username, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name, and nothing else from your Google account.
- Game data: your coins (play money), level, wins, games played, win streak, the cues you own and their upgrades, your settings, and your friends list.
- Messages: messages and game challenges you send to friends, so they can be delivered and shown in your chat history.
- Money games (only if you apply): your legal name, your USDT payout address, your wallet balance and history, and the deposits and withdrawals on your account. See Identity and address checks below for what we collect to raise your limits.
- Technical data: your IP address and basic request information, used to keep the service secure (for example to stop spam, password-guessing and abuse). We never sell your data.
Identity and address checks (money games)
Money games have limits by level. To move up, you can choose to verify:
- Level 2 (identity): the country and type of your ID, photos of the front and back of it (one photo for a passport) and a selfie.
- Level 3 (address): your home address and a photo of a recent document showing it, such as a utility bill or bank statement.
- The device you send them from: your IP address and the network it belongs to (your mobile carrier or internet provider) and its approximate location (city, region, country), plus details your browser shares: phone model and system version where available, browser, screen size, language, time zone and connection type.
We use these only to confirm who you are and where you live, to keep the limits on your account, and to prevent fraud, money laundering and account takeover. The photos and documents are stored privately with our file storage provider, in a folder separate from everything else, and are never available through a public link: only you (until you send them) and our admins checking them can see them. We look up the network for your IP address with an IP-lookup service, which receives the IP address only.
We keep these records while your money account is open and for 5 years after it closes (the law requires us to keep identity and transaction records that long), then delete them.
Voice chat
Voice chat during a match is optional and off until you turn on your microphone. Audio goes directly between you and your opponent; it does not pass through or get recorded by our servers. Our server only relays the small technical messages needed to connect the call.
How we use it
- To run your account and the game: matchmaking, keeping score, coins, rewards, friends and messages.
- To send you account emails you ask for or need: email verification, password resets and security alerts (for example when your password or email changes). We don't send marketing emails.
- To run money games: your wallet, deposits, withdrawals and limits, and the identity and address checks you choose to do.
- To protect players and the service, and to meet legal obligations.
Cookies and storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts and is only sent to CueClash. Your device also stores game preferences (such as sound and aim settings, and an unfinished practice game) in your browser.
Ad cookies
We advertise CueClash on X (Twitter). To see which of our ads bring players in, we use X's conversion tracking (the "X pixel"). If you're in Nigeria it's on, and we tell you so the first time you visit, with a button to turn it off. Everywhere else (including the UK and the EU) it's off unless you tap Allow. While it's on, X's script loads on our pages and X can set cookies and receive the pages you visit, your IP address and browser details, and that you signed up, which it may link to your X account. X handles that under its own privacy policy. We don't send X your name, email, messages, games or money details. You can change your choice any time from the game's settings menu (⚙️ → Ad cookies).
Who we share it with
We share information only with services that help us run CueClash, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare: secure delivery of the website and game connection.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- X (Twitter): while ad cookies are on, to measure our ads (see Ad cookies).
- Our email provider: delivering account emails.
- Our file storage provider (Wasabi): storing profile photos and (privately, in a separate folder) identity and address documents.
- An IP-lookup service (ipinfo.io): only when you send verification documents, to find the network and approximate location of your IP address.
- BNB Smart Chain: USDT deposits and withdrawals are public blockchain transactions. Anyone can see the addresses and amounts, but not who they belong to.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Identity and address check records are kept as described above. Each friend conversation keeps its most recent 300 messages. You can close your account in Account settings: after a 14-day grace period (in case you change your mind), your account, game data, friends and messages are deleted.
Your choices and rights
- View and change your email and password in Account settings.
- Close your account at any time from Account settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
We handle personal data in line with Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies to you, other data-protection laws such as the GDPR.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, sign-in sessions are protected, and access to our systems is restricted. No service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
Children
CueClash is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the game if the change is significant.
